What is Microblading?

Microblading is a technique using a hand held tool made up of a very small blade composed of tiny needles, kind of like a mini scalpel. Crisp hair-like incisions are created and pigment is rubbed into them. The incisions are made superficially into the upper layers of the skin known as the epidermis. The finished look gives the appearance of actual hair. This method is also commonly known as feathering, microneedling, etching, 3D/HD, micropigmentation and eyebrow embroidery.

How long does it last?

Microblading is considered a form of cosmetic tattooing, but unlike traditional methods of tattooing the color will simply fade and disappear over the course of a couple years, which is why it is a semi-permanent method. They will need to be refreshed; touch-up’s are recommended every 6 months - 12 months.

Is it painful?

Microblading is less painful than traditional tattooing.  This method deposits pigment in the upper region of the epidermis, unlike a tattoo gun in which the needle depth should penetrate into the dermis layer of the skin.
We offer two types of anesthetics.

1. Topical anesthetics used throughout the procedure to limit any pain.  There may be a slight discomfort with topical anesthetic but not pain.

2.  Anesthetic used with a needle roller.  This method administers lidocaine/anesthetic “into” the skin numbing the area completely causing the process to be virtually pain free.

Am I a good candidate for microblanding?

This technique can appeal to anyone looking to improve or create eyebrow definition, to cover gaps of lost hair, to extend the eyebrows or re-shape them. This method is also ideal for individuals who are suffering from various circumstances of hair loss, alopecdia, trigonometrical and who may need a full reconstruction. We will not shave or pluck your eyebrows or make any changes to the current hair that you have. Microblading provides a closer resemblance to actual hair than other methods out there and because it is semi-permanent it allows for change over time.

What is the procedure?

Microblading is a process, which is why it requires two sessions which are spaced 4-6 weeks apart.  Everybody's skin retains color differently, and the second session allows me to address specific areas to ensure long lasting and natural looking eyebrows.  How quickly they fade will depend on how well your skin retains the pigment, the environment, and skincare products used.
